Prior to attending law school, Timothy Forman studied at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with high honors and a Masters degree in Behavior Modification and Therapy At the undergraduate level Mr. Forman was a Presidential Scholar, an designation which afforded him access to special research projects not otherwise available to undergraduate students at the University. In graduate school Mr. Forman concentrated his studies in the area of behavior therapy and after graduation became a practicing therapist. He worked specifically with children and families in a community mental health setting both in Florida and in Southern Illinois.
After having practiced in the counseling profession Mr. Forman decided that his counseling skills could be best utilized if applied in conjunction with legal training. Mr. Forman graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1983 and has been a licensed practitioner since that time.
There are few areas of law in which Mr. Forman has not worked, but he prefers to utilize his skills in assisting children and families in reaching a resolution of the so many problems that plague families today, whether as a result of a dissolution proceeding or problems arising after the dissolution has been finalized.
During the course of his career Mr. Forman has practiced throughout the State of Illinois in both the State and Federal Courts. He is an experienced trial attorney, recognized by the Federal Trial Bar. And while Mr. Forman, as a skilled mediator, may at time favor that approach, he is prepared to try a case in either the State of Federal Courts.
