Laura D. Phillips is an associate at Phillips and Faldowski specializing in medical malpractice, personal injury, workers' compensation, and Social Security Disability casework on behalf of plaintiffs and claimants. Since 2008, Laura has served on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and currently serves as the vice-chair of the Future Leaders Section of that organization. She has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association since 2007. She is a former President, Vice-President, and Secretary of the Young Lawyers' Division of the Washington County Bar Association, and is a former member of the bar association's Executive Committee. Laura is also a member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, and Allegheny County Bar Association. In 2012-2013, Laura will serve as Chair of the Future Leaders Section of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
Laura was raised in Washington and attended high school at Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy in Wheeling, West Virginia. She graduated from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 2001, where she was a member of the International Politics Honors Program and where she was named to the Dean's List In 2004, Laura received her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a Legal Research and Writing Fellow. While in law school, Laura was selected to be a member of the Appellate Litigation Clinic and represented clients in the Fourth and DC Circuits. After graduation, Laura worked as a litigator in Washington, DC before returning to southwestern Pennsylvania in 2006 to practice at Phillips and Faldowski.
Laura was selected for inclusion in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers - Rising Stars Edition 2010 in the field of plaintiff's personal injury litigation. 'Rising Stars' are considered the top up-and-coming attorneys in their field who have been practicing for fewer than ten years. Laura is frequently invited to teach continuing legal education (CLE) courses, and she has spoken on topics including professional ethics, courtroom technology, and proving damages. Since 2009, Laura has served on the Board of Directors of Washington County Health Partners, a collaboration of community organizations, professionals, and volunteers that identifies health risks and develops and implements strategies to improve the county's health.
