William J. Peters was born in 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. After graduating from King's College in 1964, he received a regular officer's commission in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Peters resigned his Marine Corps commission in 1968 after having attained the rank of Captain and serving in both the Dominican Republic and Vietnam as a combat infantry officer.
In 1968, Mr. Peters enrolled at the Dickinson School of Law, now the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University, and graduated in 1971.
Mr. Peters has more than 30 years experience in various areas of civil law. In his practice, he has successfully litigated through trial numerous cases in both State and Federal Courts, involving the defense of personal injury claims, property damage claims, workers' compensation, products liability, corporate and real estate matters.
Mr. Peters has received training as a Mediator at the Key Bridge Foundation Center for Mediation in Washington, D.C. and is a panel member of the Dauphin County Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Service.
Mr. Peters has been an instructor at the Penn State Capital Campus, Harrisburg Area Community College, University Center in Harrisburg and at the Real Estate Institute of Pennsylvania. In his years of practice, he has served on numerous civic and charitable boards in the Harrisburg area.
