Jack is a shareholder and director in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our Minneapolis office and is a member of the Business Litigation Section. Jack practices principally in the areas of:

• Business litigation
• Permitting and regulatory compliance
• Land use planning and zoning
• Corporate disputes
• Personal injury
• Appellate practice

Jack has handled all matters of concern for waste management, utility, aggregate, development, construction, real estate, agriculture, food and entertainment clients. He has represented these clients in various forms of administrative, regulatory and corporate disputes, including contract, fraud, insurance defense, eminent domain, patent infringement/trade secret misappropriation, and personal injury. He has also handled many successful constitutional challenges to waste laws throughout the Midwest, including Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Oregon. Jack has also successfully licensed and permitted numerous facilities.

In addition, Jack has handled numerous appellate matters, including appeals to the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the Minnesota Supreme Court and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as innumerable administrative appeals. He is a member of the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Bar associations, and is admitted to practice in all Minnesota state and federal courts, as well as the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jack received his B.A. magna cum laude from St. John's University. He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. Following law school, Jack was a clerk for Minnesota Supreme Court Justice M. Jeanne Coyne. He joined Briggs in 1991.
