Educational and Professional Background
A native of San Diego, California, Leah M. Peer attended San Diego State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a minor in Spanish. During college, Leah worked full-time as a corporate investigator and loss prevention consultant. In 1994, Ms. Peer obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Western State University. During law school, she worked full-time as a law clerk for a local labor and employment firm and raised two beautiful children, Jaime and Nicholas.
From 1994 to 1999, Leah grew her own private practice in La Mesa, California, concentrating in the areas of general civil litigation, contract disputes, discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, wrongful terminations, and wills and trusts. In 1997, she began teaching evening courses in business law and ethics at Southwestern College and the University of Phoenix. Then, in 1999, Ms. Peer joined another law firm, where she worked with public and private employees and safety members, on workers compensation issues, disability retirements, administrative hearings and writs of mandamus, labor contract disputes, and EEO matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. In 2002, Leah joined Donald R. Holben & Associates, APC as an associate attorney.

Ms. Peer is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of California and has extensive litigation experience representing plaintiffs and defendants, in both the public and private sector, in the areas of labor and employment law, wrongful terminations, discrimination, harassment and retaliation issues, general and complex civil litigation, contract disputes, wills and trusts, personal injury claims, workers compensation, administrative law hearings, corporate law matters, shareholder derivative actions, as well as writs and appeals. Leah Peer is a current member of the California State Bar and the San Diego County Bar Association. She continues as a lead faculty adjunct instructor at the University of Phoenix teaching labor and employment law, risk management, business law, and ethics in management courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
