It's been my good pleasure during the past few years to represent numerous homeowners that have suffered various problems with mortgage companies that wrongfully attempt to foreclosure. Very often lenders fail to follow the FHA regulations concerning foreclosures or they fail to properly follow the terms and conditions of the mortgage documents. Therefore, very often they are wrongfully attempting to foreclose.

When that happens and a client comes to see us, our usual routine is to file a lawsuit against the lender and ask the Court for a restraining order to stop the foreclosure. The district judges in Dallas, Fort Worth, Denton, McKinney, and the surrounding counties will, almost always, grant restraining orders to stop wrongful foreclosures.

In addition, it has been our good pleasure to represent clients that have been defrauded by car dealers. Very often car dealers sell cars that have previously been badly damaged in motor vehicle accidents to such an extent that the frame of the vehicle is no longer properly aligned, and occasionally the frame alignment can never be properly repaired. In such cases, the vehicles are a danger for a person to drive. A dealer commits fraud when a buyer inquires about whether the vehicle has ever been in a serious accident and the sales person denies it or otherwise states that the vehicle had slight damage but has been fully repaired.

Our law firm has recovered judgments of over $200,000 against unscrupulous car dealers and lenders.

Recently, our firm has expanded to do more personal injury cases, including medical malpractice. Before tort reform took full effect in 1997 and 1998, I conducted and participated in numerous jury trials involving injured persons, with some jury verdicts over $1,000,000.

Recently, we settled a lawsuit involving personal injuries for $940,000, without ever having to go to trial.

In addition to representing the injured and defrauded in their real and personal property, our law firm has recently expanded to represent those injured in their intellectual property. I have combined my decades of litigation experience in state and federal courts to protect and defend our clients' rights in their patents, trademarks and copyrights in court. Our litigation attorneys team up with our patent attorney to produce strong and aggressive legal strategies.

It's been a real pleasure to represent injured persons and consumers who have been defrauded since I began practicing in 1974. Prior to attending law school at Baylor University, I was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. I was a paratrooper and earned a Bronze Star for meritorious service in combat operations in the Republic of Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. When I left the military to return to college, I was a first lieutenant. My family has a history of military service in the United States Army for which I am very proud. My great-grandfathers on both sides of my family served during the Civil War. My paternal great-grandfather served with the Alabama Volunteers for the Confederacy, while my maternal great-grandfather served in the Union Army with the Missouri Volunteers. After the war, my great-grandfather, Jacob Levi Peacock, came to Dallas from Alabama and started the Peacock & Shirley Paint and Paper Company on Main Street in 1875. We have had family in Dallas ever since that day. My father served during World War II, during the invasion of Normandy, and at the Battle of the Bulge in Europe. He earned a Silver Star for service in Europe during World War II.

As my family history shows, we are fighters.

In 1975, shortly after graduation from law school at Baylor University, I became a Christian and went to Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, to obtain a foundation in the faith. There I met my wife to be, Doli Gagnon, who is also a partner in our law firm. We have been married for 31 years and have two grown children and two grandchildren. Our son, Aaron, is also an attorney at Gagnon, Peacock & Vereeke, P.C. Our daughter, Sarah, is the worship leader at Abundant Life Family Church in Fort Worth.

It's been our privilege and good pleasure to serve the people of Dallas and Fort Worth and the surrounding communities since we came to Dallas in 1998.

We lived and practiced law in South Texas near the Rio Grande River Valley for approximately 21 years before coming to Dallas in 1998. We relocated to Dallas after our children were grown and we were "empty nesters."

Dallas and the surrounding area is a great place to live and work, as my great-grandfather learned when he came here from Alabama in 1875.

As our record representing clients in difficult situations shows, we enjoy representing our clients and always expect to achieve, and usually do achieve, great results for our clients.
