Ann Patterson has been helping the people of North Georgia collect the government benefits they deserve for decades.

Growing up in Cumming, Georgia, she learned the importance of public service at an early age. She was active in 4-H, eventually becoming a State Officer, and also served as a camp counselor at Rock Eagle and Wahsega 4-H Centers. She first became interested in the law as a teenager, while babysitting the children of the youngest Superior Court judge in the state of Georgia. After putting his children to bed, she would stay up and read the transcripts from his trials, dreaming of one day becoming an attorney.

In 1975, after graduating from Forsyth County High School, Ms. Patterson left Cumming to make her dream come true. In 1979, she graduated from the University of Georgia, with degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice. A loyal fan of the Georgia Bulldawgs - she drives a red and black car to this day - she stayed in Athens to attend the UGA School of Law. Her legal studies also took her further afield. She spent two summers working in Washington, DC, first for Senator Sam Nunn, and then for the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. She also studied one semester at the University of Athens Law School, in Athens, Greece. In 1982, she graduated with her Juris Doctor, and became a proud member of the Georgia Bar.

Ms. Patterson then returned home to North Georgia, where she has had a distinguished legal career. She was the first female appointed Assistant District Attorney in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, which serves Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker Counties. For ten years, she was also the Municipal Court Judge of Fort Oglethorpe, the first woman to hold such a position in Catoosa County.

As Assistant DA and later a Judge, Ms. Patterson witnessed the challenges faced by the people of North Georgia. Since the early 1980s, she has devoted herself to helping them collect the government benefits they deserve. In 1984, she formed a partnership with another attorney, which handled nothing but social security and disability claims. In 2009, she fell in love with the town of Rome, and joined the practice of Davis and Davis.

Ms. Patterson has represented claimants at all levels in the state of Georgia. She is licensed to practice in all the state's courts - including the Superior Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits of the United States Courts of Appeals. Two of her winning cases in the U.S. Courts of Appeal have set legal precedent and been published decisions, one in the 6th Circuit, and one in the 11th Circuit. She is also a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR).
