Since joining Brown Sims, Mr. Parker has immersed himself in the defense of employers in claims arising from workplace injuries. He has been involved at all stages from the initial investigation through resolution in all of its many forms. In all phases of a claim, Mr. Parker promotes his client goals.
Mr. Parker's prior work history includes five years in the U.S. Navy and eleven years in banking before law school. In the Navy, he served as an officer aboard a nuclear attack submarine based in Pearl Harbor. After getting off of active duty, he was a commercial lender for Hawaii's largest commercial bank. This experience familiarized him with many of the provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code dealing with the sales of goods and secured financing.
Mr. Parker received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Computer Studies from Northwestern University in 1985, a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Chicago in 1987, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, from the University of Houston in 2007. In law school, Mr. Parker also served as an Articles Editor on the Houston Law Review.
Mr. Parker is a member of the American Bar Association, the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Houston Bar Association. He currently volunteers as a mediator at the Dispute Resolution Center of Harris County.
