Denise is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice group. She regularly handles matters involving Criminal Defense, Traffic Violations, and Workers Compensation on behalf of individuals and businesses in Surry and Stokes Counties. In addition to her trial practice, Denise is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, an organization dedicated to protecting people’s rights, the North Carolina Bar Association and the Surry County Bar Association.
Denise graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1989. Following her graduation she worked for the State of North Carolina in the Department of Corrections for 12 years. She then attended Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law, graduating in 2004. Denise is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia where she practiced for two years before returning home to North Carolina. She joined Royster and Royster in 2006.
Denise is the president of Matthew 25:35, Inc., a non-profit organization which raises money to assist people in the community with a specific emphasis on feeding the hungry. The group is involved in an outreach ministry and serves a community meal monthly. Since its formation in 2011, Matthew 25:35, Inc. has either prepared, served, bought or delivered over 250,000 meals in the community.
Outside of the office, Denise enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and organizing fundraising events. She attends Fellowship Baptist Church and serves as a member of the welcome team.
