Sandy focuses his practice in professional malpractice, product liability and employment discrimination matters in both the State and Federal courts. Prior to joining MacElree Harvey, Sandy was founding member and principal of Gollatz, Griffin, and Ewing, a regional law firm with offices in Philadelphia and West Chester. Earlier in his career, Sandy served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he was Chief of the Office's Civil Division.
Recent Representations
- Recently tried a products liability case against MacElree Harvey client Ingersoll Rand Company in Federal Court in Philadelphia. The Plaintiff was a mechanical power press operator whose right hand was amputated when it was caught in the press. The case was settled after two days of trial on terms very favorable to Ingersoll Rand.
- Recently secured a defense verdict after trial in Chester County for Schramm, Inc. of West Chester, the company whose drill rig was used in the 2010 rescue of the Chilean miners. Plaintiff in this case had suffered a severely broken arm after getting it caught in an electric gate on Schramm's property.
