Lindsay Evans joined Sorling Northrup in 2012. Ms. Evans has practiced law since 2003 with a concentration in the areas of traffic, DUI, misdemeanor and felony criminal defense. Prior to joining Sorling Northrup, she served as an Assistant Public Defender for six years.
Since joining Sorling Northrup, Ms. Evans has continued as a part-time public defender in Sangamon County, Illinois. During her career, she has represented adult and juvenile offenders facing aggravated DUI, weapons, drug, theft, burglary, robbery, battery, aggravated battery to a child, sexual assault, homicide, and habitual-offender charges. She has extensive jury trial experience and has been successful in receiving positive results for her clients. While a full-time public defender, Ms. Evans also served as a member of the Sangamon County Drug Court program.
Ms. Evans graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2003. Prior to graduation, she was an editor of the Journal of Legal Medicine and a member of the Moot Court trial division. Upon graduation, she served as law clerk to Fourth District Appellate Court Justice Sue E. Myerscough.
Ms. Evans has instructed other attorneys and law enforcement personnel in the areas of narcotics defense and general jury trial practice. She practices throughout central Illinois and in the federal court system. She is a member of the Illinois and Sangamon County Bar Associations.a
