Elizabeth Eilender, Is “Of Counsel” to the firm Jaroslawicz & Jaros. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and New York Law School and has been practicing law since 1992. She is a member of the state bars of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and the federal courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. Her diverse litigation practice has included representing well-known companies and high profile individuals in commercial disputes, breach of contract cases, defamation, medical mal-practice and discrimination matters.
Ms. Eilender litigated the first sexual harassment case in New York which determined that the Commodities Exchange was a place of public accommodation and therefore the New York Human Rights Law protected exchange members. She has successfully litigated denials of claims for life insurance and disability benefits against such insurance companies as UNUM Provident, Hartford and Metropolitan Life. Ms. Eilender is perhaps best known for having represented families who have suffered devastating property and real estate losses and illnesses from water and mold damage to their homes and offices. In the early '90s, as an associate for the firm, Ms. Eilender litigated one of the first toxic mold cases in the state of New York.
Due to her long-standing expertise and success in this field, she was requested to lecture at the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education regarding legal and technical aspects of prosecuting mold cases and was recently quoted in the Wall Street Journal.
Elizabeth Eilender has obtained multiple million dollar verdicts and settlements for her clients during her years of litigation and is both accessible and compassionate with her clients.
