Orsbon, R. Anthony

Dennis is a fifth generation Montanan, born and raised in Helena. He graduated from Helena High School in 1966 and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in 1970 in Political Science. Dennis graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 1974 and was then admitted to practice in Montana State and Federal Courts. He worked as the Research Director for the Montana Supreme Court Commission on Rules of Evidence from 1974 to 1977. He then began his more than thirty year association with the firm, then known as Smith, Emmons, Baillie and Walsh in Great Falls. Dennis has also been admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Blackfeet Tribal Court.

Dennis has published two articles in the Montana Law Review, "Statutory and Common Law Presumptions in Montana," 37 Montana Law Review 91 (1976); "Montana Rules of Evidence," 39 Montana Law Review 79 (1978). He is a member of the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association, having served on the Board of Directors, as well as the Cascade County Bar Association and the State Bar of Montana.

Dennis is married, has two grown children and is an avid golfer.
