Ori, Regina Gina

William R. Oliver, a native of Habersham County, began practice in 1981 with Oliver & Oliver. The firm was formed in Habersham County by his grandfather, Grover C. Oliver, Sr. in the 1930s and later Robert F. Oliver his uncle joined the firm in the mid 1950s. Bill began his sole practice in 1987 and was joined by Ernest H. Woods, III in 1988 becoming Oliver & Woods. After Mr. Woods was elected to the Superior Court Bench in 1992, Bill continued his practice in Cornelia, Georgia until forming a partnership with Jim Weidner on January 1, 2006.

Bill concentrates his practice in criminal law & DUI, family law, civil litigation, personal injury and wrongful death.

Education
A product of Habersham County Schools, Bill attended Gainesville College, Western Carolina University and The University of Georgia. He obtained his juris doctorate from Woodrow Wilson College of Law in 1981 and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1981.

Bill is admitted to practice in State and Federal Courts. He has successfully argued cases before the Georgia Supreme court and Georgia Court of Appeals. He is a former Magistrate in Habersham County, former President of the Mountain Judicial Bar Association and a Member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. Currently Bill holds the only certification as lead counsel in death penalty cases in the Mountain Judicial Circuit.

Family
Bill and his family reside in Habersham County. They are members of River point Community Church where Bill is an officer and leads men's study groups.
