NICOLE M. ONORATO was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 2004. Ms. Onorato grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies.
Before attending law school, Ms. Onorato was the Agency Director of Angel Society, Inc., an Arizona-based nonprofit organization that provided programs and services to abused and neglected adolescent girls in a residential setting. While working with Angel Society, Ms. Onorato realized her passion for advocating for the needs, rights and interests of children, particularly those children who had no one to represent their voice. Determined to remain an advocate for children and families, Ms. Onorato chose to focus on family law in law school. Ms. Onorato received a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Family Law from DePaul University College of Law in May 2004.
Ms. Onorato is a member of the Chicago, Illinois State, and American (Family Law Section) Bar Associations, the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, the Board of the ISBA Child Law Section Council (2011-2012), the Governing Board of Rainbows (2010-2011), and the Board of Directors of the DePaul University College of Law Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center (2009- ). Ms. Onorato was selected as an “Illinois Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2011 and 2012. Ms. Onorato resides with her husband, Steve, and their puggle, Marlon in the Logan Square area of Chicago.
