Cherese earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Georgia State College of Law and was a cum laude graduate of Spelman College with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science (Pre-law).
Prior to joining the Manely Law Firm,P.C., she served the State of Georgia for over 6 years in various capacities during her tenure. Her experience includes: Death Penalty Investigator with the Georgia Capital Defender Office and Major Felony Criminal Investigator with the Clayton County Circuit Public Defender Office. While working in the Clayton County Circuit, she transitioned into a public defender and honed her litigation and advocacy skills in both Magistrate and Superior Court cases. Her excellence and success in criminal law and litigation earned her top honors which include the 2012 Michelle Ferguson-Priestly Award and pupil membership into Bleckley Inn of Court.
During her matriculation through Georgia State, Cherese was a member of the Moot Court Board where she was ranked 2nd in the organization as well as a member of the Student Trial Lawyer Association (STLA). She was also an extern for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) handling employment discrimination cases.
She is also a member of the Gate City Bar Association, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, Georgia Trial Lawyer Association, and an Executive Board of the East Point/ College Park Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
