Mr. Clark, a shareholder in our New Orleans office is licensed to practice in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. He is a former Assistant District Attorney, where he gained valuable trial experience in more than 40 jury trials. He has a broad spectrum of experience in insurance cases, most involving litigation. His practice traditionally has focused on admiralty and maritime claims, Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act matters, along with a wide variety of offshore oil exploration cases, both domestic and international. His experience is also strong in traditional tort claims falling under commercial general liability coverage.
One case was significant because the defendant, an offshore oil services company, had never been sued for a silicosis matter. Although his client had the opportunity to settle for almost nothing, there was no evidence implicating his client. Mr. Clark prepared to present the case to a jury, filing many pretrial motions. Almost every other defendant settled in the case, but he stayed on to the bitter end, and on the eve of trial, the judge granted a summary judgment motion vindicating his client.
Throughout Mr. Clark's career he has been an active volunteer with the local bar association, habitat for humanity and the young lawyers committee. Mr. Clark received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Abilene Christian University in 1990 and his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 1993.
