Lauren R. Clark was born in Midland, Michigan, and grew up in Hemlock, Michigan. Upon graduating from Hemlock High School, she attended Delta College, earning an associate degree in Liberal Arts. She then attended Saginaw Valley State University, majoring in Criminal Justice.
After graduation, Lauren moved to Wisconsin, where she spent a year volunteering for The Women’s Community, a nonprofit organization focused on assisting women affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Lauren spent a significant amount of time attending Court hearings as a victim advocate, offering support to victims and reporting unusual or concerning judicial trends in the treatment of offenders or victims.
Lauren attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School on an academic scholarship. She was very involved in student organizations and spent a year as the President of the Student Bar Association. She also spent a term as an intern for the Washtenaw Public Defender’s Office in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she advocated on behalf of criminal defendant’s charged with felonies and probation violations.
Upon passing the Michigan bar exam, Lauren enrolled in the Master of Laws program at Thomas M. Cooley, focusing on Criminal Trial Advocacy. She practiced law part-time as a solo practitioner, representing clients in divorce and custody proceedings, adoption, abuse and neglect, and OWI/OWVI.
In May 2012, Lauren joined Burda Law Offices, in Grand Haven, Michigan. Lauren practices family law, criminal law, and landlord-tenant law. She has also represented parents and children in abuse and neglect proceeding in Ottawa County and Muskegon County.
