Gloria has served public and private sector employers in employment and labor matters for over 30 years. She advises and represents many Minnesota school districts in the areas of education, employment, labor and student issues. She works extensively with school boards and school district administrators to resolve legal issues, avoid legal liability, and educate employees and students.
Collective bargaining with employee groups in the public and private sectors also has occupied much of Gloria's professional life. As a former Director of Labor Relations and Assistant General Counsel for a major airline, she negotiated contracts with airline pilots, flight attendants and mechanics. She has had considerable experience over the last 20 years negotiating and administering school district collective bargaining agreements with principals, teachers and other school employees.
Gloria is a frequent speaker on employment, labor, and education issues and has made presentations to numerous school boards and school district employees, the Minnesota School Boards Association, the Minnesota Association of School Personnel Administrators, and the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials. She is a member of the National Association of Educational Negotiators, and the Minnesota and National Council of School Attorneys.
Gloria and her husband Dave have been married for over 40 years and have three adult children. They enjoy spending time at their northern Minnesota cabin and various cultural events in the metro area.
Gloria has this to say about her practice at Kennedy & Graven:
Since my clients are public school districts, it is wonderful to be part of a law firm that has a focus on public sector clients and law.
