Oliver, Katherine V.

Frances M. Olivier graduated from Yale with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.  In 1986,  she earned her law degree from Tulane University School of Law.  During law school, Ms. Olivier was a member of the Moot Court team, where she discovered her talent for representing persons at trial, in open court. 

After law school, Ms. Olivier was admitted to practice law in Louisiana.  She went to work for the District Attorney's Office in New Orleans, where she prosecuted many criminal cases, including murder, armed robbery, and rape.  After her public service as a prosecutor, Geico Insurance Company asked her to become a trial attorney in their legal department.  Over ten years, Ms. Olivier handled thousands of auto accident cases.

Then a national casino gaming corporation heard about Ms. Olivier and hired her to be their attorney in Louisiana and to establish their first in-house legal department. In doing so, she became the first female attorney that company hired nation-wide. As the casino's counsel, Ms. Olivier encountered a variety of litigation, which she handled at the bargaining table and in court. She built the legal department from nothing and after five years and much experience, she was eager to open her own practice. 

She now operates her law practice out of Metairie and focuses on  personal injury, employment law,  insurance law, admiralty and maritime law, wills, and criminal defense.

After providing brilliant defense for Geico, Frances took a position as attorney for a large casino gaming corporation.  There Frances encountered a variety of litigation, which she handled at the bargaining table and in court.  By this time, Frances had become an experienced litigator, and soon she was eager to open her own practice.  She now operates out of Metairie and focuses on criminal defense, personal injury, employment law, insurance law, admiralty and maritime law, and election and campaign law.
