Attorney Vikas Chopra was born and raised in North Oaks, MN. After graduating from Mounds View High School in Arden Hills, MN, Vikas moved to Washington, DC and graduated in the top 15 percent of his class with a degree in Law and Society in the School of Public Affairs at American University. Vikas returned to Minnesota to earn his law degree at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN. During law school, he was awarded a CALI Award for the course Law and the Justice of War and volunteered more than 100 hours through clerkships with the Minnesota Justice Foundation. One clerkship included assisting clients apply for Social Security Disability benefits at the Minnesota AIDS Project in Minneapolis. A second clerkship involved helping clients through the immigration process at the Immigrant Law Center in St. Paul. Prior to joining Midwest Disability, Vikas was a law clerk for three years advocating for clients at all stages of the Social Security Disability process, including initial application, reconsideration, and hearing stage. Vikas is dedicated to advocating on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the benefits they deserve. When he’s not in the office, Vikas enjoys traveling, reading, politics, and spending time with his family, friends, and 4-year-old Golden Retriever named Lucky.
