Rebecca Christensen is an associate attorney and a member of the Business and Finance Group at Eckberg Lammers. She was a tax preparer prior to becoming a lawyer. She applied that knowledge base to her law practice which includes preparation of tax returns, defense of clients in tax audits and working with clients to become compliant with the state and federal taxing authorities to avoid aggressive collection and prosecution. Rebecca integrated that tax law knowledge into developing a busy consumer bankruptcy practice as well. She assisted clients with personal and business bankruptcies and has litigated several bankruptcy case issues, from the straightforward to the highly complex.
As a prosecuting City Attorney, she developed a working knowledge of the criminal court system along with her familiarity with the civil court structure and has been able to put that knowledge to use in all areas of her practice.
She will be practicing in the areas of Business Transactions, Commercial Real Estate, Taxation and Banking. Rebecca accepts clients within the state and federal jurisdictions of Minnesota and within the jurisdiction of the Western District of Wisconsin and will soon be licensed in the state jurisdiction of Wisconsin. She is admitted to the Minnesota State Bar, U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota, U.S. District Court, District of Western Wisconsin and U.S. Tax Court.
She lives with her husband and three young daughters in New Prague, MN and will be relocating to the St. Croix Valley in the near future.
