O'Brien, Robert J.

Noel Edlin has been practicing law since 1982. His practice is concentrated in the areas of toxic torts, environmental law, products liability, and the representation of public entities.

Noel has tried numerous cases to verdict in various venues, including the highly publicized case of City of Modesto v. Dow Chemical, et al., where, after a four month jury trial, Noel won a defense verdict on behalf of his client, defendant Modesto Steam Laundry And Cleaners.

Noel has served as the Chair of the San Francisco Bar Association's Judiciary Committee and was appointed by the President of the California State Bar to the Judicial Nominations and Evaluations Commission. Noel also served as general counsel for the National Council On Crime And Delinquency. He was named in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 as a Northern California Super Lawyer in Environmental Law, an honor bestowed upon California's top five percent of attorneys as chosen by their peers and an independent blue-ribbon panel. He has an AV rating from the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, indicating the highest level of professional competence and legal ethics based on a survey of Bay Area attorneys.

Noel currently handles matters for multiple insurance carriers, including Chubb Group Of Insurance Companies, for whom he serves as national counsel for mold claims. He also represents numerous corporations in products defect cases. Over the years, Noel has litigated and tried cases for numerous Bay Area public entities.

Noel is admitted to practice before the State Bar of California, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1982 from University of California's Hastings College of the Law, where he served as Managing Editor, Hastings Communications & Entertainment Law Journal from 1981-1982.
