Michael Earley's practice focuses on the representation of U.S. and non-U.S. based private investment funds, including buyout funds, venture capital funds, debt funds, infrastructure funds and real estate funds. He assists fund sponsors with the formation, operation, and investment of their funds throughout their full life cycle. Michael also counsels investment firms on a wide variety of matters involving private funds, including internal economic arrangements for private fund sponsors, M&A transactions, and strategic investments involving private fund sponsors, as well as joint ventures and other corporate transactions. In addition, he represents institutional investors, including university endowments and global sovereign investors, in connection with not only their investments in private equity, venture, real estate, and other private investment funds, but also their acquisitions of major or controlling interests in businesses.
Michael has significant experience with a diverse group of investment firms and issuers. Representative clients include include Baird Venture Partners, Capmark Financial Group, Contrarian Capital, FleetPride, Meyer Bergman, Parallel Investment Partners, Resilience Capital Partners, Resolution Real Estate, The Riverside Company, RLJ Development, RockWood Equity Partners, and TriGate Capital.
He serves on the auxiliary board of the Chicago Children's Museum, the associate board of the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund and is a member of both The Chicago Bar Association and The Illinois State Bar Association.
