Donald “Corky” Eby is the lead attorney of Robinson & Henry’s real estate division. He is an experienced adviser and powerful advocate for clients facing challenges involving the purchase or sale of commercial or residential property; real estate financing issues; land development or zoning problems; lease drafting or enforcement; landlord/tenant disputes or eviction; foreclosures; other contract issues; and HOA disputes. Don is also a talented legal resource in the area of business and commercial law. He can provide guidance in issues involving acquisitions and mergers, joint ventures, entity formation, collections, franchises, and contract issues. For many of his small business clients, he also serves as general corporate council.
Don provides superior representation for all of his clients, but our nation’s veterans hold a special place in his heart. Don served in the US Navy where he was assigned to aviation squadrons, aircraft carriers, and other special assignments. He was deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, the Red Sea, Persian Gulf, Mediterranean, and Adriatic Sea. Today, he is proud to represent veterans on issues such as VA disability ratings, combat-related special compensation, discharge review, and other Veterans Administration claims.
Additionally, Don has owned and operated his own real estate company since 2002. During this time he has, bought and sold dozens of homes. He also gained firsthand experience dealing with landlord/tenant issues ranging from broken leases to property repairs and evictions.
Don holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University. He earned the Scholastic Excellence Award for Trial Practice and was named Corporate Apprentice of the Year by the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association – Real Estate and Business sections, the American Bar Association, and the Douglas Elbert County Bar Association.
Don is an active member of the Castle Rock business community and serves on the Castle Rock Board of Adjustments. Because he has a personal connection with and cares about our nation’s veterans he serves on the Veterans Project Board of Directors and he is a volunteer attorney for the Colorado Bar Association’s Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans. Additionally, Don is a member of the Colorado Association of Real Estate Investors, NAIOP – Commercial Real Estate Development, serving on the Legislative Affairs Committee, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), and the Denver Chapter of the Navy League.
