James C. Elder was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 11, 1947. Mr. Elder graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in 1969 and a J.D. in 1972. Mr. Elder is a member of the Order of the Coif and while at the University of Oklahoma College of Law served as Article and Book Review Editor of the Oklahoma Law Review. Mr. Elder's practice has concentrated in the field of commercial real estate, financing, sales, development, and leasing, including business organizations and banking law relating to those activities. Mr. Elder is a Life Member of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation and a member of the Oklahoma City Real Property Lawyers Association, the Oklahoma City Real Estate Council and The Conference of Consumer Finance Law. He is also the chairman of the Closing Issues Subcommittee of the Title Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association's Real Property, Probate and Trust Section Committee on Title Insurance and a Director of the Community Council of Central Oklahoma. Mr. Elder has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 1987.
