Jon Nicholson graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from College of Idaho in 1986 and is a 1990 graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law. Jon has served as both a public defender and a prosecutor. The majority of Jon's experience in criminal law was serving as a prosecutor in Elmore, Twin Falls, and Jerome Counties. Jon is now using his extensive litigation skills and knowledge of assisting victims in domestic disputes, felony and misdemeanor crimes, juvenile crimes, and child protection cases to further his private practice in family law.
Jon is currently a member of the Idaho Law Foundation Continuing Legal Education Committee and a past board member for the 5th District Family Law Continuing Legal Education Planning Committee. He is also a member of the national American Inns of Court and is past president of the Fifth District Inns of Court, and a member of the Idaho State Bar and Idaho State Bar Family Law Section. Jon now practices in divorce (contested or uncontested), custody and visitation, adoption, child support, wills, guardianship, conservatorship, evictions, and juvenile law. Additionally, Jon serves as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem, Parenting Coordinator, and Mediator.
Not only does Jon have the experience to help, he also has the understanding. Jon is married with four children. He feels it is important to be fair and look at all sides of the issues. Additionally, he does what best serves his clients as all as arrives at the child's best interest when children are involved in the dispute.
