Monterey County has been Zachary’s home for his entire life. Like his father, James, Zachary has developed deep roots around the central coast during the past 30 years.
Zachary was born in Monterey and grew up in Carmel Valley. He attended elementary school at Carmel River School and Tularcitos Elementary School, and later graduated from Carmel Middle and Carmel High Schools.
Zachary briefly left the central coast in order to complete his education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of California at Santa Barbara, majoring in both political science and communication, and his Masters of Arts degree from Boston University, in criminal justice.
Zachary attended law school at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, where he graduated with certificates of specialization in criminal law and in litigation in May, 2011. During law school, Zachary was selected to receive The Golden Gate University Law Bridge Fellowship and The Frederick W. Bradley Endowed Law Scholarship, in addition to receiving the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence and being named to Dean’s List. Zachary was admitted to the California Bar in December, 2011.
Zachary currently practices in numerous areas involving criminal litigation. Although he enjoyed his time working for the Public Defender’s Office in Monterey and Marin Counties, and for the Office of the State Public Defender in San Francisco, Zachary is happy to be back on the central coast.
