Nivison, Thomas C.

Chris Nelson was born and raised in Kansas City.  He has lived in the Kansas City area his whole life, except for the years he spent in Lawrence earning degrees from KU’s School of Journalism and School of Law.  

 

Mr. Nelson joined the firm after gaining experience as a licensed legal intern in the Osage County Attorney's Office, where he won his only trial of the year.  Mr. Nelson also worked as a judicial intern during his first and third years of law school in the Harvey and Shawnee County District Courts, respectively.

 

While in law school, Mr. Nelson earned the CALI Award for the top score in Criminal Procedure, and was an active member of the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy, for which he served as Staff Editor, Articles Editor, and Alumni Relations & Endowment Co-Chairman.  In his three years at KU Law, Mr. Nelson earned a certificate in advocacy, excelling in classes that focus on client advocacy in and out of the courtroom.
