Chris Neeson joined the firm of Rawls, Scheer, Foster & Mingo, P.L.L.C. in 2010 and practices mainly in the area of commercial drafting, business organization, Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) licensing and violations, and civil litigation. Chris is a warm and committed attorney whose standard of excellence carries throughout his life to the benefit of his family, friends, and clients.
PROFESSIONAL
Chris graduated cum laude from the Charlotte School of Law. There, he was an active member and pioneer of Charlotte Law’s second graduating class and served on the Charlotte Law Review as the Senior Articles Editor.
Prior to law school, Chris earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Indiana State University in his home town of Terre Haute, Indiana. In the years between his undergraduate and graduate studies, Chris was a bartender at several establishments in Indiana and had even won several competitions in the area of "flair bartending." Also during this time, Chris was hired as a corporate trainer for a large restaurant chain and assisted in the opening of thirteen different restaurant/bars throughout the country.
While attending law school, Chris devoted much of his spare time to community centered projects. In his first year in Charlotte, he began volunteering as a Guardian ad Litem along with a host of other pro bono activities; earning honors in pro bono for all three years of law school. In addition, he co-founded the school’s Self-Serve pro se litigation clinical program by partnering with the Mecklenburg County Self-Serve Center. Chris’ work with this clinical program has been featured in many local periodicals including Charlotte Weekly and the Mecklenburg Times. In 2009, Chris was recognized by the North Carolina Bar Association as the Self-Serve program was awarded the Law Student Project Award for the year.
Upon being admitted to the North Carolina Bar, Chris was asked to join Rawls, Scheer, Foster & Mingo, and did so in August of 2010. Chris’ practice is focused primarily in civil litigation, including plaintiff's personal injury, contract disputes, and civil defense. His practice also includes wide array of business centered services, such as setting up and organizing businesses and drafting and reviewing contracts. Chris also brings his unique background and experience to help local establishments in the areas of alcohol permitting and violations under North Carolina's Alcoholic Beverage Control laws and regulations, as well as assistance with zoning and local ordinance violations.
PERSONAL
Chris was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana and is the son of two fantastic parents who still reside in Terre Haute. Chris is married and is the father of two adorable children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling and reading.
