Erika L. Nelson is admitted to both the Indiana and Illinois Bar. She is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Erika received her bachelor of science from Bradley University in 2007 where she majored in Business Management with a Legal Emphasis. During her undergraduate studies, Erika was a student-athlete on the women's basketball team and served as co-captain for two years.
Erika then attended Valparaiso University School of Law where she received her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2010. During law school, Erika interned at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois under the Honorable Judge Joe Billy McDade where she gained experience in various civil matters. Erika was also a member of the Moot Court Society when she won the Luther M. Swygert competition in 2009, competed as a finalist in Albany Law School's Gabrielli Family Law Moot Court Competition in 2010, and served on Executive Board as an Associate Justice for the Society. Additionally, she was an intern for the nation’s only Sports Law Clinic where she assisted in representing amateur athletes in arbitrations and hearings.
Erika is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.
