Attorney David A. Myers has been practicing law in northern Ohio for more than 25 years, and he heads the firm's Lorain County office since merging his law offices with Hickman & Lowder. His professional and civic activities have always been devoted to individuals who face special obstacles or challenges.
Early in his career, David served the community by chairing boards devoted to promoting equal opportunity (Lorain County Urban League) and to protecting abused, neglected, and dependent children (Lorain County Children Services). Currently, he devotes time to the Lorain County Volunteer Guardianship Program, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA). He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Long Term Care Ombudsman (LTCO), which protects the rights of institutionalized adults in Northeastern Ohio.
David graduated from John Carroll University, A.B., magna cum laude, in 1970 and received his law degree from Catholic University of America in 1973. He is licensed to practice in Ohio State Courts and before the United States Supreme Court. For more than a decade, he has been recognized by the National Elder Law Foundation as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA).
David has been selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers in 2009 for the fourth time and in Best Lawyers in America®*** annually since 2006, and he holds the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards (AV) by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Lorain County Bar Association (Probate and Trust Section), the Ohio State Bar Association (Elder Law Committee; Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section), the Alzheimer's Association, and the Lorain County Coalition on Elder Abuse. He frequently addresses professional and community groups on topics related to disability and elder law.
