Karen has been in the practice of law since 1997 with her primary focus being the handling litigation of civil rights and employment-related cases in federal court. She has also handled numerous appeals (including writing the briefs and arguing the case) before the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, as well as at the state appellate level. Her practice has also involved the representation of employers in workers' compensation cases, as well as insureds in general liability and commercial auto matters. She has further been involved in the development of policies and procedures to insure compliance with state and federal employment-related laws and regulations, as well as provided supervisor training on employment issues. Karen received her certification in regard to Medicare Set-Aside Allocations in 2012 and is now able to assist other attorneys and insurance professionals in complying with the Medicare Secondary Payor Act.
