Mark Murakami is a partner in the firm's Honolulu office and is a member of the Real Estate, Land Use & Hospitality Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on complex real estate transactions, commercial real estate development and operations with an emphasis on purchases and sales of property, retail and office lease negotiation and administration, multi-party development agreements, dedication of infrastructure projects to governmental authorities, real estate subdivisions, and easements. He has extensive experience in Land Court (Torrens System) matters. He was selected by attorney peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2013 for Real Estate Law; he has been listed since 2011.
Representative Matters
James Campbell Company and Affiliates Lead counsel on large sale transactions with developers of retail and commercial projects in the City of Kapolei and large tracts of agriculturally zoned land. Recent negotiations include projects involving sales to large and small scale retail and office developers and large land holdings in Kunia, Pupukea and Kahuku on the Island of Oahu. Assists with ongoing administration and compliance with terms of master CC&Rs for the City of Kapolei.
Real Property Drafting and implementation of development agreements, joint development and for construction of regional infrastructure by major landowners, and declarations of covenants controlling land use planning, design guidelines, owner associations and infrastructure development for large and small resort and commercial developments. Ongoing negotiations with various governmental entities to dedicate park, roadways, sewage, and drainage infrastructure systems.
