Laura D. Mruk was born in Lake Forest, Illinois, and is an associate in the firm’s Rockford office. As an associate in the firm’s litigation group, Laura concentrates her practice in commercial law, employment law, and municipal law. While attending law school, Laura served as a lead articles editor for Northern Illinois University’s Law Review. Laura has published articles in the DuPage County Bar Association Journal and in Northern Illinois University’s Law Review including Wi-Fi Signals Capable of Conversion: The Case for Comprehensive Conversion in Illinois and The Proverbial Axe to the Judicial Oak: The Impact of Stonerdige on Plaintiff’s Actions under § 10(b).
Laura is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois,the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Winnebago County Bar Association.
Active in the community, Laura serves as a Standards of Accountability Review volunteer for the United Way Rock River Valley, a member of the Board of Directors for the Rockford Dance Company, a member of the Board of Governors for River Front Museum Park, and a graduate of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. As an undergraduate, Laura focused on public and political communications, and theater.
