Wally Mrozinski is one of the firm’s most experienced Workers’ Compensation attorneys, having practiced before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission since October of 1980. He has arbitrated more than 450 cases before the Commission and has successfully argued many cases in both the Circuit Court and the Appellate Court. He is a past chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. Since joining the firm in March of 1994, he has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the firm by utilizing his knowledge, expertise and experience in the Workers’ Compensation fields.
In 2009, in the case of Roberto Lomeli v. Levy Construction, he received an award of $354,464.99 for a carpenter in a disputed heart attack case. Also, he received another award from the Circuit Court of Cook County for $232,857.29 in the case of Rodolfo Ramos v. Bourbon Tile and Marble for a tile setter who suffered a severe closed head injury. He also negotiated settlements in 4 separate cased involving his clients’ loss of trade. They were Rose Palacios v. Lakes & Rivers Contracting ($250,000) for a construction laborer who sustained a knee injury with multiple surgeries; Juan Rivera v. Pinto Construction ($245,000) for a carpenter who sustained a shoulder injury with multiple surgeries; Billy Poston v. Asplundh Tree ($250,000) for a tree trimmer who sustained a shoulder injury with multiple surgeries; Ellis Fisher v. Taylor Turf Installation ($275,000) for a carpenter who sustained a knee injury with multiple surgeries.
Wally has been a member of the Chicago Bar Association for 30 years and a member of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association for 25 years. He is a life-long resident of the Chicago area. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University of Chicago in 1969 and his Juris Doctor from De Paul College of Law in 1976. He resides in the suburban Chicago area with his wife of 37 years and their beautiful daughter.
