Adrienne Ferraro Mueller has experience in a wide range of complex litigation, with a focus on representing companies and their officers and directors in securities, derivative, and shareholder actions. She also has experience defending clients in litigation brought on behalf of employee benefits plans (including deferred compensation plans, 401(k) plans, ESOPs, and incentive plans). Adrienne regularly conducts internal client investigations and represents clients in government investigations involving the SEC, DOJ, and Secretary of Labor. She frequently advises public and private clients on matters of corporate governance, and she has represented clients in a number of federal and state jurisdictions.
Representative clients in recent public matters include Boykin Lodging, Cardinal Health, Diebold, Hawk Corporation, National City Corporation (now part of The PNC Financial Services Group), and Xcel Energy. In 2005, Adrienne gained invaluable plaintiff-side experience as part of the 10-week trial of Crowley v. Chait, No. 85-2441 (D.N.J.), which resulted in a jury verdict of $119.9 million for the Vermont Commissioner of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration, as the receiver of Ambassador Insurance Company. The verdict was affirmed by the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. More recently, she was part of a trial team that successfully represented the existing board and management of a company in Delaware Chancery Court litigation arising out of a hard-fought contest for corporate control.
Adrienne is a member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations. She serves as a member of the board of directors of Blessing House, a children's crisis care center.
