Lisa Galloway Monzo is a partner of the firm and concentrates her practice in the areas of criminal and civil litigation.
Mrs. Monzo began her career in private practice in 1992, representing clients in business, worker's compensation, personal injury and criminal law.
She gained trial experience as an Assistant Public Defender, primarily representing juvenile offenders. From 1999 to 2003, Lisa served as the Balanced and Restorative Justice Coordinator for Westmoreland County. She was certified by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency as a Balanced and Restorative Justice Trainer and provided education and training for police departments, juvenile justice agencies, juvenile probation departments and schools, as well as reviewing and evaluating existing programs, services and practices of Westmoreland County juvenile justice agencies.
Since 1996, Mrs. Monzo has served as an adjunct faculty member at Seton Hill University, teaching Business Law in both the traditional and accelerated degree program curricula.
Mrs. Monzo is a member of the Westmoreland Bar Association, and was named the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the members of the Westmoreland Bar Association in 2002.
She is a member and former board member of the Ned J. Nakles American Inns of Court. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, where she served as a delegate to the PBA House of Delegates from 1996 to 2005. She also served on the board of the Westmoreland Bar Foundation from 1995-1998.
Mrs. Monzo has also been an instructor and panelist for legal education programs, including the WBA and PBA sponsored town meeting on Juvenile Law. She was also selected to participate as a trainer in a statewide Balanced and Restorative Justice Curriculum training program and one of the first attorneys trained as a member of the PBA Project Peace program, bringing alternative dispute resolution programs to local schools.
Mrs. Monzo has been an elder-trustee at First Presbyterian Church since 2004, serving as counsel to the Board of Trustees. She also taught Sunday school for the eighth grade.
Mrs. Monzo received her B.A., with honors, from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia and her J.D. from Ohio Northern University in 1992.
Mrs. Monzo and her husband, Jeffrey, have 2 children, an 11 year old son and a 9 year old daughter.
