Yeah-Sil Moon's practice is concentrated on patent procurement and consulting in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemicals, food, polymers, cosmetics, household products, automobiles, semiconductor, optical fiber, telecommunication, electronics, and medical devices. She has participated in the successful defenses of an investigation instituted by the U.S. International Trade Commission and patent infringement litigations before the District Court for Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit involving polyethylene terephthalate yarn and products containing the same. Her practice also includes trademark prosecution in the areas of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, household products, electronics, telecommunication, and automobile parts.
She has worked for Celgene Corporation, Medimmune, Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motor Corporation, LS Cable Co., LG Household and Healthcare Co., SK Telecom Co., SK Chemical Co., Hyosung Corporation, Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co., CJ Corporation, Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, and Korea Research Institute of Chemistry.
From 1999 through 2002, while attending Cardozo School of Law, Yeah-Sil worked as a law clerk and patent agent at Friedman & Siegelbaum LLP, Rosenman & Colin LLP, and Pennie & Edmonds LLP, a leading intellectual property firm. Before coming to the United States she worked at Korean intellectual property firms and was involved in patent prosecution, opinion work, and litigations before the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Patent Court.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, the Korean Patent Attorney Association, the Asian Patent Attorney Association, the Licensing Executives Society, the International Trademark Association, the New York State Pharmacist Association, and the Korean Pharmacist Association.
Yeah-Sil regularly speaks to intellectual property organizations and pharmaceutical and telecommunication associations on patent procurement, consulting, and litigation matters. She speaks Korean fluently and can read and converse in Japanese.
