Holly Monk was born in Lubbock, Texas, the largest contiguous cotton growing region in the world. When she was a young girl, Ms. Monk's family moved from the semi-arid Lubbock to Grand Saline, salt capital of Texas. Upon her graduation from high school in 1980, Ms. Monk enrolled at Tyler Junior College. After graduating from Tyler Junior College in 1982, with an Associates Degree in Business Administration, Ms. Monk started working as a legal assistant in Tyler, Texas.
In 1989, Ms. Monk moved from Tyler to Dallas, Texas for better employment opportunities in the legal field. Ms. Monk enrolled in the University of Texas at Dallas in 1994, where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She then went back to Lubbock, Texas to attend Texas Tech School of Law. While at Texas Tech, she was an Articles Editor of the Law Review, a research assistant for Professor Brian Shannon, and third-year class President of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Monk graduated from Texas Tech School of Law in 1997.
Ms. Monk's legal career has primarily focused on what she likes to call "people law": Family Law, Wills and Probate, and Bankruptcy. The last few years have been solely devoted to Family Law. She prides herself on her ability to truly communicate and sympathize with her clients, and explain the legal process and options as completely as possible so that they can make informed decisions. Ms. Monk handles family law cases in Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Ellis, and Collin counties.
