Ms. Moore is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. She completed her undergraduate studies in International Relations, Law, and Organization through the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She studied abroad in Ecuador and Argentina and worked abroad in Bolivia during those years.
During her law school years, Ms. Moore obtained extensive experience working on refugee and immigration issues both through her work as a author, member, and editor for the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal and through her employment with the International Human Rights Law Group and for an immigration attorney.
In the course of her work for the International Human Rights Law Group, Ms. Moore acted as a human rights monitor for an inspection team monitoring refugee rights and conditions for the refugee settlement at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Upon graduation, Ms. Moore was employed with Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights, predominantly working on their refugee and immigration project. Ms. Moore then began her employment with the Minnesota Court of Appeals, working on general civil and criminal law issues.
Finally, Ms. Moore worked for several years for another San Francisco immigration law firm gaining general experience in immigration law and appellate work. Ms. Moore is the co-coordinator for the African-American Interest Group for the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She has traveled through 19 nations and is proficient in spoken and written Spanish.
