David W. Mitchell is an associate in the Birmingham office and is a member of the firm's Environmental and Natural Resources Section. His practice encompasses a broad range of state and federal environmental matters arising under the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). David advises electric utilities, industrial facilities, and landowners with respect to permitting, regulatory compliance, administrative rulemakings, and enforcement proceedings.
In law school, David served as an Articles Editor for the Alabama Law Review and received the Lightfoot, Franklin & White Award for being named the most outstanding member of the Managing Board. At Furman University, he was a four-year letterman on the baseball team and was named First Team All-Southern Conference as a relief pitcher in 2003. David is originally from Houston, Texas.
