Elizabeth Mitchell is a partner in the firm's Securities and Litigation/Controversy Departments, and a member of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group and the Business Trial Group. She joined the firm in 2001.
Practice
Ms. Mitchell has represented financial institutions, corporations, and individuals under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, self-regulatory organizations, and state attorneys general in a variety of matters. She has also handled a range of civil litigation matters both within and outside of the securities context, with an emphasis on complex disputes at the trial level.
From 1999 to 2001, Ms. Mitchell served as a Trial Attorney in the Torts Branch of the United States Department of Justice. In this role, she represented the White House and numerous federal agencies in the government’s litigation against the tobacco industry.
