James F. Misiano has over thirty years experience as an attorney in all phases of litigation and transactional matters. Mr. Misiano brings wealth of knowledge and experience clients have trusted and confided in since his admission to practice law in the State of New York.
Mr. Misiano received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School. While at Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Misiano wrote for the International Law Journal, as well as the school newspaper, The Justinian. Additionally, at Brooklyn Law School, he was awarded an American Jurisprudence Award in Corporate Law, for his scholarship in that field. He received his Bachelors of Arts from Hofstra University, where received the distinction of graduating summa cum laude. While at Hofstra, Mr. Misiano was chosen as a member of Phi Alpha Theta, for his scholarship in the area of American History. He was also awarded a comparative language scholarship by the Hofstra University Italian Language Department.
Mr. Misiano is an active member of the American Bar Association. He is also an active member of the Suffolk County Columbian Lawyers Association, where he is a Past-President. Further, he received honors from the Suffolk County Bar Association, for his work on the Nassau/Suffolk Pro Bono Project.
He has been certified as an Arbiter of Commercial Disputes by American Arbitration Association. In this role, he serves as an arbitrator for the District Court of the State of New York, County of Nassau. Further, Mr. Misiano is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at New York Institute of Technology.
Outside of the office, Mr. Misiano has served as a President of the Kiwanis Club, and he has volunteered his legal services to Little League. He was a "big brother" in the Big Brother/Big Sister organization. His interests include reading, horseback riding, travel and mixed martial arts.
