Most people, including many lawyers, have little idea how tough it is to go to trial. Like all members of the trial group, Ken Millman does. Before joining Leisawitz Heller, Ken was an Assistant District Attorney in Berks County and served as the lead attorney representing the Commonwealth in hundreds of felony hearings and trials. It was this experience during his formative years as a trial attorney that led Ken to concentrate his practice in representing seriously injured victims of the wrongful conduct of others. Although Ken does practice in the areas of criminal defense and commercial litigation, his primary focus is in personal injury litigation. In order to effectively represent his clients, Ken has been admitted to the bars of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He has significant experience in jury and non jury trials where he has successfully obtained verdicts in his clients’ favor in personal injury, commercial and criminal matters. Additionally, Ken is well versed in all areas of alternative dispute resolution. He has successfully represented clients at both arbitrations and mediations and has himself served as an arbitrator.

Ken is very active in the local legal community. Currently, he chairs the Berks County Bar Association’s Civil Rules Committee and is a member of the Executive Board of the William Strong Chapter of the American Inns of Court. Ken also serves on numerous other state and local bar association committees but his commitment to serving the community extends beyond volunteering for organizations related to the practice of law. For example, Ken is President of the Exeter Library Board of Trustees.

Prior to becoming a trial lawyer, Ken received his B.A. degree from Franklin and Marshall College where he played both football and baseball. He then continued his education at the Widener University School of Law where he graduated cum laude. In law school, Ken distinguished himself as a winner of the American Jurisprudence Award and was the recipient of several other academic honors.

Ken and his wife reside in Exeter Township with their two sons. A sports enthusiast who has coached youth sports for more than fifteen years, he emphasizes to kids that there is no “I” in team. This philosophy is something he carries with him in representing clients. “When a client places his or her trust and confidence in me as an attorney, it is my goal to work together with the client to achieve a successful result. Not only do I welcome as much communication as possible with my clients, I encourage it. This is how I have been able to maximize my clients’ recoveries from insurance carriers.”
