Senator Miller has been a prominent trial lawyer in the State of Maryland for over 35 years and has further distinguished himself as being the longest serving Senate President in the history of the United States. Senator Miller practices in the areas of criminal law, traffic law, DWI and personal injury. He was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1967 after graduating from the University of Maryland Law School. Senator Miller is a member of the Local, State and National Bar Associations and has been awarded the 1999 Tyser Medallion Award for Outstanding Service to the University of Maryland; Outstanding Alumnus of the University of Maryland and the William P. Coliton Community Service Award for Excellence from Johns Hopkins University.
