Taylor has had a passion for children her entire life. Because she was adopted by her dad when she was three, the adoption process has always been an integral part of her life. When Taylor was in the Seventh grade, she started a program called "Its' About T.I.M.E.- Teaching Involvement Motivates Excellence," which provided extra-curricular activities to youth in East Texas and educated students and parents on the importance of being involved. More than 35,000 people have been affected by this program, and seeing the impact that a little bit of hard work could have motivated Taylor to aim higher.

Taylor graduated from high school at age 17 and received a scholarship to Baylor University where she majored in History and minored in Religion. She graduated summa cum laude from Baylor at age 20 and was offered a full-tuition scholarship to Baylor University School of Law. While at Baylor Law, Taylor was in the top 1/3 of her class, an officer in the Student Bar Association, and an active Court- Appointed Special Advocate for children. She also worked as a clerk for Judge Walter Smith, Federal Judge for the Western District of Texas, and the Office of General Counsel for the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Taylor graduated from Baylor Law in February of 2012 at age 23 and passed the Texas Bar Exam in May.
