Adam Miller, a former Deputy Bureau chief at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, is a highly skilled trial lawyer and investigator with significant experience in all areas of criminal law. During his tenure at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, Adam led prosecutions focusing both on street crime and white collar crime and quickly gained a reputation amongst judges, adversaries and colleagues as a skilled negotiator and dynamic trial attorney. Adam now builds upon his past experience as a prosecutor to represent individuals and business entities charged with crimes or under investigation by government agencies.
As a Deputy Chief of the Major Economic Crimes Bureau at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, Adam supervised approximately twenty-five attorneys in all areas of white collar prosecution ranging from corporate embezzlement to stock manipulation. Many of Adam's prosecutions received national and international recognition including the indictment of a Chinese Trading company for evading United States sanctions and supplying nuclear material to the Iranian military; the conviction of a former board member of the New York Mercantile Exchange and several energy traders for illegal trading activities; and the first conviction in the United states of a Chief Executive Officer for stock option backdating. Adam also conducted numerous joint investigations with the SEC, CFTC, United States Treasury Department, United States Secret Service, IRS, New York State Banking Department, and New York State Tax Department.
Prior to being appointed to the Major Economic Crimes Bureau, Adam served as a trial attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office's trial division where he investigated and tried numerous major felonies and misdemeanors ranging from simple assault to attempted murder.
Based on his expertise as a trial lawyer, Adam has been invited to teach trial advocacy at law schools throughout the nation. Adam served as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy at St. John's School of Law, taught advanced trial advocacy at Emory University School of Law, and lectured on cross examination techniques at New York Law School. Adam also served a faculty member at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office's Trial Advocacy Program.
Adam has also lectured on securities fraud to government regulators and prosecutors and lectured on sanctions evasion to members of the FBI, and Secret Service at the National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Adam is a 1996 cum laud graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and
1999 graduate of Fordham Law School.
