James Allen Michel Jr. is a Wyoming native, having had a broad agricultural background with both crop production and livestock production experience. This background has provided him with a diverse range of experiences available to understand the legal issues that are often unique to Wyoming residents.
In addition to an agricultural background, the educational experience of James also focused on agricultural topics. James completed both undergraduate and graduate study from the University of Wyoming in Agricultural Engineering, completing and receiving B.S and M.S. degrees. After working within Wyoming for a number of years, James went on to the Wyoming College of Law graduating with his Juris Doctorate in 2000.
While at the Wyoming College of Law, James studies did focus on business operation and business formation, agricultural issues, water law, real property, natural resources contracts and estate planning. James was sworn into the Wyoming State Bar in 2001, and the Montana State Bar 2004.
After graduating from the UW College of Law, James joined the firm of Messenger and Jurovich P.C. in Thermopolis, Wyoming as an associate attorney. In Thermopolis, James gained an appreciation for the diversity and experience of a small town local practice where your clients were your neighbors. In addition to the diversity offered by small town practice, James also gained additional experience in all of the above areas and also was privileged to assist in the representation of some local governmental agencies.
James is a member of the American Bar Association, the Wyoming State Bar and the Montana State Bar. James is currently members of various community organizations. James takes part in and enjoys the outdoor and independent Wyoming style of life.
