Emily Meyers is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group. She joined the firm in 2007.
Practice
Ms. Meyers is a litigation and enforcement attorney who represents individual and institutional clients in white-collar criminal cases, securities-enforcement investigations and complex commercial litigation. Her practice extends to both state and federal courts, as well as regulatory bodies, including FINRA and the SEC. She frequently conducts internal investigations of, and advises clients on, compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Ms. Meyers is a member of the firm’s diversity committee and has an active pro bono practice, which has included preparing a brief amici curiae to the Supreme Court of Arkansas on behalf of various child welfare organizations challenging a law preventing unmarried cohabiting couples from adopting or fostering children.
Past Experience
While in law school, Ms. Meyers interned with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, where she assisted with matters involving licensing, copyright, trademark and not-for-profit incorporation. As an intern with the Business and Legal Affairs Department at MTV Networks, Ms. Meyers performed contract and licensing work. She also held a summer associate position with the New York office of another large international firm, where she researched and drafted memoranda regarding Eighth Amendment claims and assisted with preparation of a brief to the Supreme Court on the enforcement of the Solomon Amendment. Prior to beginning her legal studies, Ms. Meyers was a litigation case assistant with the same firm.
